Getting Started With Zira
Add Zira, place her role correctly, then choose the feature you want to set up.
Welcome aboard. This guide gets Zira ready on a fresh server, then points you to the right setup for the job you want done.
Prefer a visual interface to slash commands? Open the Dashboard once Zira is in your server. Nearly every server feature is configurable there without typing a command.
Inviting Zira#
You'll need the Manage Server permission on the target server to add Zira.
Use the official invite link. Either grant every permission Zira asks for, or assign Zira a custom bot role with the permissions listed here.
Every Zira command is a slash command, so they all begin with /.
Moving Zira's Role#
After Zira joins, drag the Zira role above any role you want her to assign. Discord won't let a bot manage roles ranked above its own.
Discord caches role positions aggressively. If a role looks like it's in the right place but Zira still won't assign it, drag the role down, save, then drag it back up.
Next: pick your path#
- Hand out self-service roles: Start with Button Roles. They are the recommended replacement for reaction roles.
- Move existing reaction roles: Follow Migrating from Reaction Roles.
- Assign roles automatically: Read Auto Roles, Timed Roles, or Voice Roles.
- Run community features: Open Giveaways, Polls, Suggestions, or Nitro Boost Tracking.
- Set up welcome messages or private voice rooms: See Join Messages, Leave Messages, or Private Rooms.
- Play music: Start with Zira Music.
- See everything Zira can do: Use the Feature Guide.
They remain supported. For a new setup, Button Roles are easier to manage and do not depend on Discord reaction events. If you specifically need reactions, continue with Basic Reaction Role Setup.
