Reaction Role Commands
Temprole
Give one member a role that removes itself after a set time.
The /temprole command gives a specific member a role for a limited time. When the timer runs out, Zira removes the role automatically. Perfect for trial roles, event access, timeouts from a channel, or rewards that should expire.
You can also manage temporary roles from the dashboard under Configuration → Timed Roles.
On the Temporary roles card, enter the member's Discord user ID, choose a role, enter a duration, and press Grant. The active-grants table shows who has each role and when it will be removed. Remove now revokes it early.
Free servers can set temporary roles up to 14 days. Premium and partner servers can go up to 365 days.
Giving a Temporary Role#
Usage#
/temprole give <User> <Role> <Duration>
Valid duration examples: 30m, 1h, 3d, 2w. The minimum is 1 minute.
Giving the same role to the same member again restarts the timer with the new duration.
Removing One Early#
Usage#
/temprole remove <User> <Role>
Removes the role right away and cancels its timer.
Good to Know#
- The role is removed within about 30 seconds of the timer ending.
- Removals are reliable: if Discord has a hiccup at the exact moment a role should come off, Zira keeps retrying until it does.
- Your server's audit log shows exactly why a role changed: "Temporary role: granted by staff" and "Temporary role: time expired".
- If a role change is logged to your role log channel, temporary grants and expiries appear there too.
- Premium servers can enable Expiry DMs on the Timed Roles page. This covers
/temprolegrants and timed Button Role actions.
