Overview

Zira polls are a question plus a set of options, posted as a Zira message your members answer with one click. No reactions to add, no counting by hand, and no way to vote twice.

You can run one from Discord with /poll create, or build it on the Polls page of the Dashboard when you want the extra options.

What a poll can do#

• Single or multiple choice. Let each person pick one option, or up to however many you choose.
• Results your way. Show the tally live as votes arrive, show only how many people have voted, or hide everything until the poll closes.
• Anonymous voting. Nobody, including your staff, sees who voted for what.
• Role-restricted voting. Only members with a role you pick may vote.
• Buttons or a dropdown. Up to five options render as buttons; more than five becomes a select menu, so a 25-option poll still fits in one tidy message.
• Runs as long as you want. Give it a duration, or leave it open until you close it by hand.

Which results mode should I use?#

This is the one choice worth thinking about, because it changes how people vote.

A closed poll always publishes the full breakdown, whichever mode you picked.

Changing your mind#

By default members can change their vote. On a single-choice poll, picking a new option simply replaces the old one. Clicking the option you already picked removes your vote, which is how someone abstains after voting. If you would rather lock answers in, turn Allow changing a vote off when you create the poll.

Free vs Premium#

Polls are free, including multiple choice, every results mode, anonymity, open-ended polls, emoji on options, and role-restricted voting. Premium raises the ceiling:
