Zira has no role

The error#

I don't have a role of my own in this server, so I can't manage roles at all.

Why it happens#

When a bot is invited without requesting any permissions, Discord does not create the bot's managed role. Zira is in your server, but she holds no role, so she cannot manage roles, and every role looks "too high" for her.

This usually means Zira was added through an old or modified invite link.

The fix#

Pick either one:

• Re-invite Zira with the official link on zira.bot. You do not need to kick her first; opening the invite for a server she is already in repairs the missing role and permissions.
• Or create the role by hand: make a new role with the Manage Roles permission, assign it to Zira, and drag it above the roles you want her to hand out.

Check that it worked#

Run any role command, or open the dashboard and press Save on a button role. The "no role of my own" message should be gone. If you now see a message about the role hierarchy instead, that is progress: just move Zira's role up the list.
