Troubleshooting

Zira Music problems

Fix the common Zira Music issues: the bot will not join, playlists look empty, and Spotify import.

"Discord did not let the bot join that channel"#

Zira Music needs View Channel, Connect, and Speak in the voice channel. Two extra things block joins even with those set:

  • The channel is full: raise the user limit or grant Zira Music Move Members (bots with it bypass the limit).
  • The channel is a private voice channel: add Zira Music's role to the channel's permission overrides.

My playlists page is empty, but I have playlists#

Playlists belong to your Discord account, not to the server. The dashboard always shows the playlists of whoever is signed in:

  • If a member of your server has playlists, they show on THEIR dashboard, not yours.
  • Make sure you are signed in with the same Discord account you used with the bot.

Liked Songs appears automatically once you like your first song (or open the playlists page).

Spotify import#

Importing needs two things: Zira Premium in the server, and your Spotify account linked (a one-time step, done from the playlists page). Spotify only lets apps read playlists through a linked account.

  • "Could not read that Spotify playlist": the playlist is private. Make it public in Spotify, or link the account that owns it.
  • "That does not look like a Spotify playlist link": paste a link that starts with https://open.spotify.com/playlist/.

The player card buttons do nothing#

If the card is grayed out, that session is over: play something to get a fresh card. If the bot left the channel or was restarted, the old card is disabled on purpose so stale buttons don't mislead anyone.
