Troubleshooting

Missing permissions

What "missing permissions" and "can't see that channel" mean, and how to grant Zira exactly what each feature needs.

The errors#

Zira is missing permission to post or edit in that channel.

Zira can't see that channel.

I'm missing the following permissions: ...

Why it happens#

Discord permissions apply twice: once from the roles a bot has, and once from per-channel overrides. Zira can have every permission server-wide and still be blocked in one channel because that channel overrides it. When you see one of these errors, the answer is almost always a per-channel override.

The fix#

  1. Right-click the channel from the error, then Edit Channel, then Permissions.
  2. Add the Zira role (or check its existing entry).
  3. Turn ON the permissions from the table below for the feature you are using.
  4. Try the action again. Changes apply instantly.

Tip

A quick way to test: can YOU see Zira in the channel's member list on the right? If Zira is not listed there, she cannot see the channel at all: grant View Channel first.

Still not working?#

If Zira has the permissions in the table and it still fails, check for a deny override on the @everyone entry of that channel or its category: an explicit deny beats a role allow unless Zira's own entry explicitly allows it.
